Happy New Year 2012: Britain battered by stormy weather

Reuters - Today, more than 100,000 homes lost their electricity supply in Britain, as storms of up to 90 miles-per-hour uprooted trees which knocked out power lines, whilst flying debris damaged the power infrastructure. Two people have died as a result of weather related incidents.
